Put Your Records On
Girl, put your records on, tell me your favorite song... Honestly, I don’t have one favorite song. My taste goes all over the place from Bob Dylan to Mozart to Kanye to Celine, etc... BUT, one thing is for sure... I LOVE vinyl records, as much as, I love books! There is magic in the sounds, the crackle, the way it fills a room and brings it to life! Spotify and iTunes are great when you’re traveling but if you REALLY want to enjoy music and experience something beautiful, throw on a record.
♡ Anybody with a good record collection will always be in love ♡
Records involve engagement. I could spend hours in any record shop, but Banana Records is one of my favorite places! When it comes to organizing our records, it’s imperative to store them correctly and care for them. Here are some of our favorite ways to store records:
We prefer to organize by genre and then alphabetize by artist. You can organize alphabetically if you have a smaller collection, rather than having subcategories.
Crates, bookcases, shelving units, custom furniture pieces, etc. are all great places to store records. Nowadays, you have so many selections to choose from.
Some clients like to have records organized by color for a more artsy feel. Do whatever works best for you. After all, you are the one enjoying them.
Whatever you decide, please DO NOT stack the records on top of each other. It’s not a juicy burger or sandwich that needs to be stacked. Stacking can damage the record over time.
Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything.
